OV66 ID Check
As of 4th November 2024, in order to reduce the time your dog or cat will need to stay in quarantine on arrival Australia from 30 days to 10 days, you can get your pet identified by two different UK OVs, who must not work at the same practice, and who both have the OV66 specific approval from the UK and Australian authorities.
These two ID checks must be carried out before your pet’s rabies blood test (RNATT), although the second ID check can be carried out at the same appointment as the rabies blood test (as long as the ID check is completed first). Please ensure your pet's microchip number is registered on a DEFRA-approved UK microchip database, otherwise we will not be able to complete the ID Check.
At PassPets, all of our OVs have the OV66 approval, so we can undertake the first ID check and/or the RNATT declaration appointment (after your pet’s second ID check and RNATT sampling) at any of our branches (Havant, London or Bristol).
Please note, we don't currently offer rabies vaccinations or the RNATT blood test – but we can guide you on vet practices locally to our branches that are able to offer these (and the second ID check).
